Founded almost 200 years ago, in 1830, by Ernest Mauviel in Villedieu-les-Poêles (aka the copper town), located in the Manche department of Normandy, northwestern France, Mauviel has been producing hand-made copper cookware, applying the town’s 800-year medieval tradition of copper working, while innovating like in the case of the M’6 S collection. For its know-how and craftsmanship, Mauviel has been granted a Living Heritage Company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) label by the French government.
