The Original Sommelier Knife by Forge de Laguiole was created in collaboration with professional sommeliers and thus gives it its ergonomics, elegance, and efficiency. The conical spiral, with 5 turns, of the corkscrew optimises its functionality, especially for the delicate corks of the finest vintage wines. The lever, whose operating principle is patented, is casted from heated metal and as a result is very resistant, hence can withstand intensive use. The blade of the knife is sharpened, allowing the capsule to be cut off cleanly and easily.

It comes with an elegant leather case inside a gift box, with a certificate of authenticity.

About the Brand

Founded in 1987 in the mountainous village of Laguiole, in the Aubrac region, Aveyron department, in southern France, Forge de Laguiole, through its master cutlers, has been meticulously smithing knives – one cutler per knife – in the prestigious Laguiole style, which originated almost 200 years ago, in 1829, in the same town. For its know-how and craftsmanship, Forge de Laguiole has been granted a Living Heritage Company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) label by the French government.
